One of Wales's most important cultural events is now well under way at Llantood, a site off the A487 in the north of Pembrokeshire, after the National Eisteddfod opened on Saturday 1 August. The festival, which celebrates Welsh language, culture, music and literature, is expected to attract visitors from across Wales and beyond throughout its week-long run.

This year's Eisteddfod carries special significance, marking 850 years since the first recorded Eisteddfod in the Dyffryn Teifi area.
