Pembrokeshire teachers and classroom assistants were given a standing moment in the spotlight at Pentre'r Garreg Las on Saturday, 8 August, when a special ceremony recognised the educators who have completed intensive Welsh sabbatical courses across the fifteen years since the programme was first established.

The scheme allows teaching staff to step away from classroom duties and take part in full-immersion Welsh language courses, building the confidence and competence to use and teach the language back in their own schools. Over fifteen years, the initiative has reshaped Welsh language provision inside what are otherwise predominantly English-medium schools across Pembrokeshire.
